Only one period per year

I want to get pregnant but i dont have a normal period. I go a year or so without a period. Can I still get pregnant without a period?

Thank you so much,
Dianna

Dear Dianna,

Having only one period per year is very abnormal and you need to see a gynecologist about this. It is also makes it very difficult, to get pregnant.

You may have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal imbalance. It is very likely that you need medication to regulate your periods, and you may need fertility medication in order to get pregnant.

Sincerely,
Amy
