Irregular periods

Hi!

I'm 19 and I still don't get my period every month..... What's wrong with me? What do you suggest? --

ldyny

Dear ldyny,

You may have PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome). This is a hormonal problem that can lead to irregular periods. The best thing to do would be to talk it over with your doctor. He or she may recommend tests to find out what is going on.

Many women with PCOS take birth control pills to regulate their periods. Some women with PCOS may need medication to help them get pregnant.

Sincerely,
Amy
