Can medication intefere with a pregnancy test?

Up until 4 weeks ago, I was taking Lexapro for anxiety. I feel I may be pregnant, but have taken a hpt and the result is negative. I am actually due today, and I am ALWAYS on schedule. My concern is that something in the drug could interfere with a correct reading. Is this possible? Thanks.

Dear L,

I could find no evidence that Lexapro can cause a false positive pregnancy test. Only certain anti-seizure or anti-Parkinson's medications and some tranquilizers can cause false positives.
